Astral Chain is an action-adventure game in which the player controls one of several police officers – members of the Neuron special group – in the fictional metropolis of Ark. At the beginning of the Astral Chain, the player must opt peerless of the two Twins – a brother surgery a sister – as a playable character; the endorsement random twin also appears in the game as an NPC.

During the game, the grapheme, as a police officer, must respond to incidents and conduct investigations – exploring the game world, interrogating NPCs and perusal evidence, the histrion finds clues and puzzles that allow the current investigating to move onward. During the game, the police visit the "Heavenly body Woodworking plane" – a parallel world in which the character must overcome all sorts of obstacles, solve puzzles and fight enemies, as in traditional dungeons in computer games.
